Formula

One of the scariest things to talk about with other parents when it comes to babies has been about feeding them their first year.

I am sure that people will have a lot of opinions to share, and I love to hear everyones thoughts. For us, the most important thing was having a full baby. This became especially true when my oldest had to spend his first couple weeks in the hospital. Knowing that he was always fed was one major concern off our shoulders in one of the most stressful times of our lives.

Both of the boys breastfed and took formula. Mom had her time, and I had my time with them too, which made a huge difference with the overnights! But, since I’m a picky guy, I definitly had a favorite formula.

We came down on the part of using Similac, although we did use Enfamil because they both sent INSANE samples and the Obstetrician’s office loaded us up with cannisters. Lots of people like both, and I won’t get too far into the details about the differences between them, but knowing we were choosing between two great brands helped us to come down on one thing… Similac dissolved better into water. It seems like a small thing, but when its 3am and your’re on day 50 of no sleep, making a quick bottle was a life saver for me. I had to really shake the enfamil to get it to mix!
